DRS Quick Installation
 
 
• System Requirement
 
    1. CallURL Voice Board 4LV+DRS (4-port) or Voice 8LV+DRS (8-port)
    2. CONTAX DRS 3.1.0 Installation CD
    3. Windows 2000 / 2003 or Windows XP O.S. ( Install IIS if use Web UI – You can check Internet Information
         Services in "Control Panel → Administrative Tools")
 
• System Connection Diagram.
 


   Tapping the DRS ports to Analog phone line (Extension or CO line)
 
• Install the PCI Card
 
   With PC power Off, Plug 4LV+DRS or 8LV+DRS to PCI slot in the PC
 
• Automatic Install the Board Driver
 
    When the PC powers up, Windows will detect the "New Hardware"; Press "Cancel" to allow installation CD to install the driver automatically. (Please refer to the following screen captures)
 

[NOTE]:Please make sure you install EasyTapi Driver 3.1.0 first
 
• First, Install EasyTapi Driver 3.1.0
 
    1. Insert CONTAX DRS CD into CD ROM driver
    2. Let the CD to auto-start or click "AutoRun" in the folder to start the installation
    3. Click "Install EasyTapi Driver 3.1.0" to install the TAPI driver

(Please follow the guidance from the installer program)
 
    4. When you see the warning message, just click "Continue Anyway"
 
    5. When the installation is completed, the driver is located in C:\Program Files\CALLURL\EasyTapi
 
• Verification of the proper Installation
    If needed, you can check the driver installation status by: (1) Device Manager in "System" and (2) "Sound & Audio Devices"
 
 
    (1). Verify the Device is installed in Device Manager
 
    The Talk Voice device should be there as the Red rectangle indicated.
 
 
    (2). Make sure the Audio Device (Talk Voice Playback Channels) exists
 
 
 
• Secondly, Install CONTAX DRS software
 
    1. Click "Install Contax DRS 3.1.0" to install the software

(Please follow the guidance from the installer program)
 
    2. The software will be installed (by default) at:
        C:\Program Files\CALLURL\CONTAX DRS
    3. Re-start PC to get DRS system running.

DRS Usage Guide
 
• Run DRS
 
  [NOTE]:Please DO NOT run DIAG32 and DRS at the same time.
 
    1. Start CONTAX DRS Server (Start → All Programs → CONTAX DRS → CONTAX DRS Server) Or, you
        can create a short-cut on to your PC Desk Top
    2. If this is the first time use of DRS, DRS will ask you to select Database. Please choose "Microsoft Access
        Database"
    and set (Database Server) as
        C:\Program Files\CALLURL\CONTAX DRS\DATA\DRS.mdb
 
 
 
    3. When the DRS main page shows up, it is ready to go.
 
 
    Debug Message : It shows System Logs in the message window below, which displays details of the system operation.
    You can refer to the following window as a demonstration of its function.
        Select Channel : Here you can choose individual channel or all channels of which the System Logs you want to show in
    the message area.
        Log to file : If you check this box, then the system logs will be written in a file, you can then refer to it in
    C:\Program Files\CALLURL\CONTAX DRS\RecordLogs.

• DRS Settings
 
    1. If this is the first time use of DRS, the password is left blank; the system will log on automatically and stays in administrator mode. You can set your password in "System Settings → System → Log On Password".
 
 
    2. As shown in the next captured screen, the default function for every channel is "Line Recording", you can right click on the channel to do Property Settings.
 
 
 
    Channel No.: The default value is 100-103 (Depending channel number of your TAPI board). The default value of      Length for Channel No. is 3,you can change it in "System Settings → General → Settings → Length of Channel No.".

    Agent Name: The name of the channel in use, if you choose "Show Agent Name", then in the main DRS window you can
         see the Name you set here instead of the Channel No.
 
 
    Executing Function: you can set your channel function as Line Recording, Line Monitor, Remote Access and
                                  Emergency Calls.
    [NOTE]:While searching, please set an idle channel as emergence channel. Otherwise the recorded wave files can’t be played Locally from a speaker plugged to Card. Then set back in order to enable this channel to record.
    Remote Access: You can set the password for remote access. If the password is left blank, the user needs to enter # for remote access. Otherwise the user needs to enter the correct password when calling into the system for remote access.
 
    Triggering Methods
    Ring Activating: if the phone rings, the DRS will start recording;
    Dial Activating: if you press the phone key, the DRS will start recording;
    Voice Activating: if there is voice (any sound through the channel), the DRS will start recording;
    Disconnect Methods
    Enable Voltage Detection: if there is a LC be to normal, the DRS will STOP recording. (So, the recording will STOP     matches the ON-Hook precisely) Please refer to DIAG32 (Line Detector) for LC Drop Detection in user manual.
    Enable Tone Detection: If detect “hang up tone” or “dial tone” on the line, the DRS will STOP recording.
    Silence Time: If the silence time on the line over the setting time, the DRS will STOP recording.

• Examples of Call-In and Call-Out
 
    In the example screen, line 100 is "Recording" (Yellow Highlighted).
    It is a "call-In" call with caller ID "6110", also shown was Start Time and Recording time. Also note that in Debug Message you will see the operation details.
 
 


    The above example shown a "call-out" to "8810" . The DTMF key field keeps the press history. Same information was in the Debug Message window.

• Query Recorded Files
 
    1. Press "Call Logs" to retrieve recorded files
 
 
    The default search condition is for intraday records. Based on your need, you can set the search conditions such as by Ext. No., User name, DTMF Keys (Dial out Number), Caller ID, Call Type etc. or any combination. When press "Search" button, the system will list call logs match the searching condition.
    ( This is very useful for checking recorded files )
 
    2. By right click on the record you can choose other operations, such as "Save as…", "Delete" "Print" and "Edit Data" (see the following screen capture) etc.
 
 
    The feature Edit Data is very useful. This feature allows you to make a note on the record for future reference about the call. A simple explanation follows:
    Click on "Edit Data", the following window appears:



    You can enter or edit the data as (e.g.) "Conference Notice" as show below, then close editing by clicking "OK".

 
    Then in the query list you will find the DTMF KEY of the record shows the message you edited. It holds over 200 characters, that's enough for making useful notes.

    3. You can select the program of your choice when playing records. You do so by clicking "System Settings →
        General → Play Options"

• DRS Backup Management
 
    1. If this is the first time use of DRS,the "Backup" is disabled,this means the system default not doing Backup; By setting the Backup Medium in "System Settings → System → Backup Methods", you then can activate it.
 


You need to re-start the DRS software to enable it.

    [NOTE]: Why Backup Needed – the record files are saved in the default path in the DRS-installed disk initially. You can see the time reserved for recording in the window, after that time the system will delete the recordings ( call logs and voice files ) to preserve the disk space used. But, when set back up, the records will be pushed over to Back-up device.
 
    2. Click on "Backup", the following window appears
 
 
    3. Click "Yes" to get into backup device window.
 
 
    4. Click on "Load Index" button, the follow window appears:
 


    Choose the disk for backup, click on "OK", the records in the disk will be listed in the window; you can do searching, play and save those records.

• DRS Report
 
    The system provides the following reports according to different options selected :
    (1)Weekly analysis reports for all channels.
          Weekly analysis reports for individual channel.
 
 
    (2) Daily statistic report for all channels.
          Weekly statistic report for all channels.
          Monthly statistic report for all channels.

    Each report is categorized with Total Calls, In-bound Calls, Out-bound Calls, Connect Time, Recording Time and Average Connect Time. The reports are displayed in graphics and can be displayed in format chosen according to different requirements.

• System Settings
 
• General
 
    Press "System Settings → General"
 


    Run Options: If you choose "Run automatically When the Computer Starts", after you start your PC, the DRS software will start automatically; if you choose "Display Icon on Tray of the Task" you click the Contax DRS Icon in the Task bar to bring out DRS main window .

    If you choose "Show Monitor automatically if the Channel is Recording", the DRS main window will pop up only
    when the recording is started.
 
• Recordings
 


    Prompt for recording Options
 
        If you choose "Play 'recording started' prompt when recording starts", it will give a prompt "Recording Started" when the system start recording.
        If you choose "Play recording tone every…secs", then, during the recording, it will give you a prompt tone to remind you that this talk is being recorded.
        You can find the wav files of "Recording Started" and "recording tone" in C:\Program Files\CALLURL\CONTAX DRS\wave, with name as startPrompt.wav and beep.wav respectively. If needed, you can replace them by the same name.

    Maximum record Options
        If you choose this, it will enable you to set a maximum time length of recording. When the time is over, the
    recording will stop.
    Record File Folder
        You can use the default record folder, or you can choose other folder for the record files.

• Time Period
 
 
        Administrator can define four times period according to the actual requirement. The default setting is all day. You can refer to Recording Time (Right click on the channel, choose "Property → Recording Time") table for selected period for every day of the week.
 
    You can also define holidays as follows (the system stops recording on those days):
 
• Emergency Calls
    Give you choice of conditions and phone number to dial.


    If you choose "Log Call Out Result", then your emergency call logs will be recorded in the call log files too.

DRS Web User Interface
 
    1. Launch the Browser (I.E. on local machine, for example)
        http://localhost/
    If can't be access the web server, please click "control Panel → Administrative Tools → Internet Information Service", to get the following window. Choose "Default Web Site",click on "Stop Item".
 


    Choose "DRS", click "Start Item". (so the DRS web server is started)


    2. At login page, "user name", key in "admin"; default "password" is "1234" (You can change them when get into
        the system)


    3. Feature selection is on the left. If select "Query Record" (This is the default select when you enter the UI),
        press "OK"


    4. Query Result will appear as follows. (It should be self-explanatory)


    If Choose "User Manage", you can add users, and do editing and delete.


    You can add the new web user, the field need to be filled.


    For System setting, you can do all familiar settings in DRS system via web page:

    You can also monitor the channel status in "Channel Monitor" page.


    By click on the channel you can do General settings (as shown) and settings of Recording Time.


    You can also change your password in "Change Password" page :


    You can see the DRS System logs by clicking "Browse".
